Trace a decision to its source

Follow a connected document from preserved evidence to a reviewed Wiki fact.

Use this walkthrough when a project decision appears in a connected operating document and you want to know exactly what the source says before trusting the Wiki interpretation.

Before you start

You need a family or team workspace with an organization document source selected for sync, and permission to read that source. If no document has been selected yet, ask a workspace admin to choose one under Connections → Organization connections. The admin can use Sync now after selecting it.

1. Open the captured document

In Connections → Source documents, open the document that contains the decision. If you do not see it among the recent items, choose Browse. Compare its title and source modified date with the file you expected. A newly selected source may take a little time to sync and extract.

2. Find the exact wording

Read the preserved content first. Use the Source outline on long text documents to locate the relevant heading or step. For example, find the line that says the rollout is blocked until security review, then check the surrounding conditions. If the provider link is present, Open original takes you to the live file; Jackdaw's view is the captured version.

3. Review Jackdaw's interpretation

Scroll to Knowledge from this version. Find the item about that decision and compare its wording and destination subject with the source. Use Accept when it is faithful, Correct when the claim is close but wrong, or Reject when the source does not support it. The original document remains unchanged whichever choice you make.

4. Check the Wiki and version

Open the linked Wiki subject and inspect the fact and its evidence. If the live document has changed since Jackdaw captured it, return to the source and use Versions to see which revision supported the claim. A removed source may still appear in the full inventory as Removed from source with its captured versions.

You have finished when you can answer two questions: What does the source say? and Which reviewed claim is the team using? See Source documents and evidence for the reading surface in detail.
