The basics

What is Jackdaw? Jackdaw is the shared source of truth for teams and their agents. It brings together decisions, plans, people, evidence, and changes from the places work already happens; helps the right people establish what is current; and gives connected AI the relevant parts of that state. How is this different from ChatGPT’s or Claude’s built-in memory? Built-in memory helps one AI remember what happened in its conversations. Jackdaw maintains what a team has actually settled across people, sources, projects, and agents. It preserves superseded versions, provenance, authority, uncertainty, and permissions — and makes that state visible and correctable by the team.

Do I have to use Jackdaw’s assistant? No. People can work directly in the Wiki, build native Jackdaw agents, or connect an existing AI over MCP, the Claude Code hook, or the browser extension. They all use the same current, permission-aware context.

Access & cost

Is it free? Jackdaw is in closed beta. Current plan pricing and trial terms are listed on the homepage. Request access and we will reach out as spots open.

How do I get access? Request access on the homepage; we are letting people in gradually during the beta.

Privacy & your data

Is my data used to train models? No. Your data is never used to train foundation models, and it is never sold to third parties.

What actually leaves my computer? Cloud sources (Gmail, Calendar, GitHub, Slack, …) sync to the Jackdaw workspace you authorize. On-device sources — iMessage, Apple Notes, browser history, your local codebase — are read by the desktop app and stay on your machine unless you explicitly turn them on. You choose what goes in. Who can see my workspace? Only the people you deliberately add, and only within the access controls that apply to them. Personal workspaces begin private; team and family workspaces are shared with their members. See Workspaces & teams.

Can I remove things? Yes. Disconnect any source to stop future syncs, edit or remove structured facts, and change your own notes directly. Jackdaw never generates or rewrites the Wiki’s narrative.

How the current state changes

Does Jackdaw change the team’s source of truth on its own? The rule is: We save what you tell us. We ask about what we figure out. Facts you state directly can land immediately. Inferred claims, identity details, and anything that conflicts with an established fact wait for review. Jackdaw never silently replaces what the team already settled, and it never writes page prose.

I connected a source but the Wiki is still empty — why? The first sync and extraction take a few minutes; a large mailbox or long repository history takes longer. Jackdaw works in the background — give it a little time, then refresh the relevant page.

What does a connected AI actually see? Not an entire workspace dump. Jackdaw returns a ranked, relevant slice for the question or assignment, within the permissions of that person or agent. Connected AI can propose durable learning, but it cannot silently rewrite the team’s current state.

Languages & platforms

Does it work in languages other than English? Your content and Wiki can be in any language. English is what we have tested most so far.

Where does Jackdaw run? Jackdaw runs as a web app, a macOS desktop app for on-device sources, and on mobile. The same workspace context is available on each surface.

Which AIs can I connect? Anything that speaks the Model Context Protocol — Claude.ai, Cursor, Claude Code, and more — plus the Claude Code hook. A browser extension for Claude.ai and ChatGPT is in closed beta.
