Connect sources

Connections bring source material into Jackdaw so people and agents can inspect what supports a fact. Start with a source where decisions or changes actually happen, then check what Jackdaw captured before adding more.

Connect a source

1. Open Connections in the workspace where the context belongs.
2. Choose a source. Cloud sources use an authorization flow; local sources need the macOS desktop app and their requested permissions.
3. Select the accounts, folders, or containers you want to sync when the source offers a selection step.
4. Let the initial sync finish, then open the relevant Wiki page or Source documents to inspect what arrived.

Connected material is evidence. Claims Jackdaw infers from it wait for review; a connection does not automatically approve every extracted fact. See Reviewing what Jackdaw captures.

Cloud sources

• Google: Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, Photos, and Drive.
• Microsoft: Outlook mail and calendar, OneDrive, and supported Microsoft files.
• Slack, Notion, Linear, Todoist, and Discord.
• GitHub and GitLab: repositories and related coding activity.
• X: bring your own token in the connection flow.

HubSpot, Zendesk, Stripe, and Salesforce appear in organization workspaces. They are not personal-workspace connections. Depending on the source, admins may need to choose the records or document containers the workspace should sync.

On-device sources

The macOS desktop app can connect Apple Notes, Apple Contacts, iMessage, Safari, Chrome, local codebase files, Cursor, and Claude Code. Turn on only the sources you want to contribute. Desktop permissions and source availability vary by source.

For current Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor sessions, you can also install the Jackdaw coding-tool plugin. It supplies relevant context and captures finished turns. Its optional Claude Code import covers repository memory notes and past sessions; that is separate from the desktop source list and from Claude.ai saved memory.

AI chat-history file import

Privacy and control

You choose which sources to connect and, where offered, which containers to sync. A shared workspace has its own members and visibility rules; check that you are connecting to the intended workspace. Disconnecting a source stops future syncs. For selected organization document sources, turning off a selection or disconnecting can remove imported data from that source; read the confirmation before making the change. Jackdaw does not use your data to train foundation models or sell it to third parties.
